Sculpture of Mata Hari. The Leeuwarden-born Margareta Zelle (1877-1917) became a famous exotic dancer. She was eventually accused of espionage and executed by firing squad at the Chateau Vincennes in Paris (1917).

'Entrance to the Theatre' (1866) - by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Fries Museum. His life-like representation of this small comedy theatre in Pompeii, is one of his first paintings that relive and idealise the antique world. It is therefore significant as a work that started Alma-Tadema's success.
